I do miss the command line in 3DSMax (I'm much more accostumated to AutoCAD), and have already found myself opening some 3 windows and changing some settings because I've tried to type 'extrude', for exampleД«ut I kind of agree with Buginator on this one, this is rather a question of OS style.
